Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people face unique challenges accessing information and services that are sensitive to their health needs. With funding from Vancouver Coastal Health’s SMART Fund, QMUNITY’s Education/Outreach program was established in 1998 to help advance the health and well-being of queer individuals and communities. QMUNITY’s Education/Outreach program works directly with community members and organisations to develop and facilitate programs and services that support healthy queer living. Some of these community initiatives include:
- Building Accessiblity Together
- International Day Against Homophobia
Education/Outreach is responsible for conducting awareness training with service providers, developing and distributing resource materials, and coordinating community health initiatives in partnership with diverse organizations, community groups, and businesses.
