* Gab's CitizenU Training! Gab's CitizenU Training!

Time: 10:00 am

Come for 2 fabulous days of training anti-oppression training with Gab Youth and citizenU on Sunday April 28 and Sunday May 12! What is citizenU, you ask? Well! citizenU is a three-year citywide program designed to engage Vancouver youth and their families in addressing racism, discrimination and bullying; and in building community cross cultures, faiths and generations. Awesome! The program begins with training workshops that address different forms of discrimination and ways to respond. This is happening this weekend! Hurray! Over the next 6 months, participants then participate in citywide events that explore these issues in the community. Finally, participants have the opportunity to develop and deliver their own youth-led projects to address discrimination. An alumni program provides volunteer and internship opportunities, and ongoing chances to take part in events, activities and youth-led projects. This is a totally rad opportunity to gain some skills and create some opportunities for learning and sharing around anti-oppression and community building! Plus, some great, fun events! Hurray! We'll be hanging out on Sunday April 28 from 10am-4pm and Sunday May 12 from 10am-4pm. Snacks, lunch, and bus tickets will be provided! It's mandatory to come to both sessions for training and funtimes! :) (If you've missed the first one, email lau.mehes@qmunity.ca, and we can work something out so you can attend!) Location is QMUNITY Generations: 610-1033 Davie St.
