QMUNITY is funded by various levels of government, corporate sponsorships, individual donations and community fundraising. There is rarely room in our annual operating budget to buy new equipment or furniture. We often make do with old technology and run-down furnishings however, over time even we have to admit when it is time to retire old, inefficient and or downright ugly items. The items on the list below have been identified by QMUNITY staff as things that we really need now in order to better serve our community. If you own but no longer have a use for any of the items on the list below, or if you are in a position to purchase any of these items for us, you can make a huge positive difference. We can issue a tax receipt for donations of items that have a current market value of $25 or more. Thank you.
- office furniture (new or very gently used)
- Rubbermaid style storage bins
- New laptops (including wireless network capability) or/ nearly new gently used laptops with minimum 1.66 GHZ with 1 GB Ram and XP Service Pack 3 installed
- Windows 7 software
- LCD computer monitors
- Server and networking software and hardware
- New flooring (carpet and or linoleum) or assistance to rip out old carpeting and refinish wood floors
- Display cases for bulletins and posters
- Drawing software and tutorials for staff (for designing posters, pamphlets etc.)
- Canadian Tire money
- Financial donations
- Marketing/communications expertise
- IT expertise
- Gift cards
- Magazine subscriptions to Out (expired November 2009) and The Advocate (expires May 1, 2010)
