Chronic Health Group
Chronically Queer (CQ) is a monthly facilitated group for LGBT people living with chronic health conditions and/or disabilities.
CQ provides a safe, supportive environment where LGBT-identified people can come together and share what’s going on in their lives, whether it relates directly or indirectly to their chronic health issues or disabilities. Participants talk, listen, support each other, laugh and cry together. They can be themselves fully and openly without fear of judgments.
Meetings also include self-care activities and social events. Discussion topics have included coming out as someone with a disability, grief and loss, spirituality, dating, and sexuality. Self-care has included workshops on art expression, journal writing, reflexology, and shiatsu. Social events include arts and crafts, Pride barbeques, and holiday dinners.
Chronically Queer meets the last Wednesday of the month, 5:30– 7 p.m. at the Generations office, 610 – 1033 Davie Street. This building is wheelchair accessible.
