QMUNITY Education/Outreach offers awareness training for health care, social service, and criminal justice personnel.

Our training includes:

•    Definitions and discussions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) culture and history (queer culture and history)
•    The impacts of homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism
•    Information on health issues specific to queer people
•    Discussion of barriers to access and ways to make services more inclusive and welcoming to queer people

Workshops consist of presentations and interactive exercises that can be tailored to specific audiences.

QMUNITY has conducted awareness training at conferences and diverse agencies including crisis centres, community health centres, anti-violence organizations, and colleges and universities.
