QMUNITY offers ten sessions at varying levels of reduced cost. In some circumstances, free counselling may also be an option for folks. If you are unable to afford our counselling fee we may still be able to accommodate you. Appointments are available during business hours, 10am-6pm, Monday to Friday.
Our counselling program is not suitable for individuals experiencing severe mental health issues. We do not offer crisis or same-day appointments. If you require emergency or mental illness-focused support, please reach out to our Information and Referral Services line at 604-684-5307.
The counselling we offer is designed for folks who can not afford full-cost counselling. In some circumstances free counselling may be available which is provided by practicum students who are completing their Masters degrees in counselling, clinical counselling, art therapy or social work.
The cost of our low-cost counselling stream ranges from $60 to $120 based on circumstances and what is sustainable for you. During the intake process, we ask that folks are prepared to share what their needs and circumstances are. Our low-cost counselling is provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors and Registered Social Workers. Please note that receipts can be provided for extended health insurance purposes.
The counsellors we work with have competency training in 2SLGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse related issues and are equipped to create a productive, non-judgemental relationship where you can explore your life and the changes you might like to make. The counsellor’s role is, within the boundaries of their scope and ability, to help you explore your life and navigate the changes you would like to make while respecting your worldview, values, and personal resources.
