National AccessAbility Week is celebrated across Canada starting on the last Sunday of May. This year, in 2026, it starts on May 31st and ends on June 6th.

What is AccessAbility Week?

The week promotes advancing accessibility by reducing barriers and championing inclusion in our communities. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of people with disabilities and celebrate organizations, allies, and communities alike who work alongside people with disabilities to further inclusion. This year QMUNITY is highlighting one way we try to reduce these barriers.

Accessibility Icons

When scrolling through QMUNITY’s instagram or coming across an event poster, you may have noticed a small bar of icons at the bottom. These are accessibility icons, they are a simple but significant addition.

These icons are designed to be simple indicators of accessibility needs and access. They help to inform the participants who access QMUNITY’s programs and events by reducing barriers and making the accessibility of a program quick and easy to understand.
