Fashionably Late

Adults exploring or embracing their queer and/or trans identities later in life.

Description

Starting on October 13, 2026! Fashionably Late is a welcoming social and peer support group for adults exploring or embracing their queer and/or trans identities later in life. It’s a space for people who may have already built careers, relationships, marriages, families, or other established lives before coming out or beginning to question their identity. There’s no single definition of “later in life,” and everyone’s journey looks different. Whether you came out recently, years ago, or are still figuring things out, if this experience resonates with you, you’re welcome here. The group is facilitated by three trans, and non-binary facilitators who each bring lived experience of coming out or discovering their queer and/or trans identities later in life. Together, they bring backgrounds in science, psychotherapy, education, and research, as well as experiences navigating long-term relationships, family, career, and identity. They’re excited to create a welcoming space for connection, exploration, and community. Meeting Times: The group meets on the second Tuesday evening of each month, alternating between online and in-person gatherings. Online meetings are held over Zoom, beginning October 13, 2026. The first in-person gathering will take place in November at Yaletown Roundhouse. In-person gatherings may occasionally vary in time or location to give the group opportunities to meet in different community spaces. Locations will be in and around so-called Vancouver and may include the Yaletown Roundhouse, cafés, libraries, and other accessible community spaces. For the complete schedule and more information, please contact fashionablylate@qmunity.ca QMUNITY Peer Groups are volunteer-facilitated spaces. Meeting times and locations may change from time to time. For the most up-to-date schedule or access information, please contact the peer group facilitators directly.
