TRANS ID CLINIC
What: The Trans ID clinic provides notarial, administrative, and emotional support to queer, trans and 2-spirit folks who require assistance with name and gender marker change processes.
The clinic is accessible by appointment, walk-ins welcome subject to availability.
When: 4:00pm-6:00pm on the first and third Wednesdays and third Friday of every month.
Where: 150 - 900 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2M4
*Please note: The entrance to the office is located on Smithe Street, just around the corner from the main 900 Howe Street entrance.
What you need to bring: Please bring your BC Identification (Driver’s License, BC Services Card, BCID) with you. If you were not born in Canada, please also bring your immigration document with you. TRANS ID - FINGERPRINTING CLINIC
What: As of September 1, 2024, all applicants for a legal Change of Name in B.C. aged 12 years and older are required to obtain a criminal record check. The Trans ID - Fingerprinting Clinic offers a peer-supported, community space to access VPD fingerprinting services.
The criminal record check requirement must be met within 30 days before a legal change of name application is filed with the Vital Statistics Agency. Fingerprints are only used for the purpose required by the Name Act.
When: Fingerprinting clinics occur once every two months, from 3:00pm-5:00pm on the third Wednesday of the month, unless otherwise indicated on the booking form. The fingerprinting clinic is by appointment only.
